Junior Art Class

Local artist and educator, James Eric Rogers, invites students ages 6-12 to 4 weeks of art classes.  One large final painting composition will be completed as well as several smaller pieces.  Techniques will include acrylic, watercolors, stenciling and 3D sculpture.

Learn the art of Yoga and Meditation to calm your mind and relax your body.  Breathing and stress reduction exercises will be taught.

Family Tennis

A wonderful opportunity for the whole family to come and learn/play tennis. Families will be  introduced to the game of tennis at all levels.  Different age groups will be on each of the 4 courts and games will be presented according to abilities and interests.  Come to one session or all three! We can only register 12 families for each Sunday. Children must be at least 5 years of age. When you register, please just register one parent’s name for the program.

Kids can Cook – “Cook & Share”

A fun interactive class where kids will learn to make a full meal on the first day and then will recreate it and serve it to their families on the second!
On Tuesday, November 7th, the students will learn to make a chicken entree with roasted potatoes and vegetables, as well as a dessert.  On Thursday, November 9th, the students will work together to recreate the meal in order to serve and share it with their families.  Students may invite 3 family members as their dinner guests at 7:00pm on November 9th.   Bon Appetite!

Kids Paddle Program

Coast to Coast Paddle will be offering a Kids Stand Up Paddle Program designed for young paddlers of all ages.

Kids Can Cook – Summer Series

This 3 night program, offers a fun interactive way to learn about different meals.  On Monday, the theme is breakfast. Participants will learn how to work with eggs, cook bacon and prepare breakfast potatoes.  Tuesday is lunch, where they will make grilled cheese, a basic pasta and tacos.  On Wednesday, we will finish the program with a 3 course dinner.

Ages: 8-17

Summer Basketball League

Age: Boys and Girls, ages 9-15

Date: Clinics will taker place June 26-29. The season will run from July 10 to August 17 and playoffs will take place the week of August 21.

Boys ages 12-15 meet Monday nights

Girls ages 9-15 will meet Tuesday nights

Boys ages 9-11 will meet Thursday

Time: Games are scheduled each hour, at 6:00, 7:00 and 8:00 pm

Place: Memorial Park

Enrichment Programs at Palmer Cove Park

We will be offering a series of enrichment programs at the Palmer Cove Park during July and August.  All programs are free to Salem Children.  Space is limited, so sign up early.  Each program will run Monday – Thursday, with Friday serving as a make up day due to inclement weather.

Yoga and Meditation: Ages: 9-12

Art Workshop: Ages 9-12

Forest River Adventure Day Program

Salem Park, Recreation and Community Services will be running a day program at the Forest River park this summer.  Join us for crafts, exploration, science and nature, sports and games, swimming and lots more!

 

Ages: 6-12

Time: Monday – Friday 8:00am-4:00pm

Dates: 8 sessions to choose from

Fees: $130.00 for the first child, $85.00 for additional child.
